Born in Darmstadt in 1970, his first approach to music was at the piano at the age of six. The artist then played the drums at the age of twelve. As a drummer, he was a member of several bands, but with the passage of time he distanced himself from analogue music, found less interesting than electronic music.
Since the 80s, the teenager has started working for a German label thanks to her older brother already started to the career of the DJ. The artist is one of the first to get in touch with acid house and techno. In this collection Roman collaborates with musicians such as Phuture or Derrick May, or Rhythm is Rhythm, who are considered the forerunners of these genres and which also inspired Roman Flügel. Already in the early 80s he was interested in dance music, as Funky Town by Lipps Inc.
In addition to the Chicago-House-Trax compilation, his visits to the legendary former techno club in Frankfurt Omen proved to be influential for his musical career. After acquiring the necessary equipment for the studio, Flügel sent a demo tape to the Jörn Elling Wuttke in Darmstadt in the early 1990s, after which their collaboration was recorded. Flügel has also studied musicology and has been co-designer of the Ongaku labels for many years.
